Twitter has deleted 8,400 microblog entries that contained misinformation about the coronavirus.
This has happened since March 2020. This is stated by a message on the company’s website.
The representative of the social network for governance and philanthropy in Spain, Camino Rojo, emphasized that in March last year, new rules came into force for users of the platform, designed to minimize misinformation about the causes of the occurrence, how to prevent the disease caused by the coronavirus.
“Since then, our teams have deleted 8,493 tweets, and our automated systems have challenged (owner claims – ed.) 11.6 million accounts that have made the discussion of COVID-19 an object of spam and manipulation,” – said a company representative.
As reported, Facebook is expanding the list of false claims about the coronavirus that will be removed from the social network.
Note that in April 2020, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed 241 online agitators spreading fakes about the COVID-19 coronavirus.
