“TASHI DELEK, XIZANG, CHINA!” 2024 INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL AGENTS’ TOUR IN XIZANG SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUD

by Binary News NetworkOctober 31, 2024

To further drive the development of the “Winter Tour in Xizang” initiative, the “Tashi Delek, Xizang, China! 2024 International Travel Agents’ Tour in Xizang” was officially launched on October 17 and concluded successfully on October 22 after six days of comprehensive exploration and rich cultural experiences. Meticulously organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Xizang Autonomous Region, the event aimed to strengthen the international promotion of Xizang’s cultural and tourism resources, inspire global travelers to explore this mystical land, foster partnerships with leading overseas travel agencies, effectively increasing the number of inbound travelers, and boost inbound tourism to Xizang.

The event welcomed 38 representatives from 12 key inbound tourism markets, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, South Korea, Australia, Russia, Belarus, Nepal, the Maldives, Mongolia, as well as Hong Kong and Macao SARs, China. The meticulously curated itinerary took participants across Lhasa, Shannan, and Shigatse, featuring visits to the Potala Palace and the stunning Yamdrok Lake, encounters with the natural wonders of Karola Glacier, and explorations of historical landmarks such as the Yungbulakang Palace and Shalu Monastery. Participants also experienced traditional craftsmanship at the Gyantse Carpet Factory, enjoyed Tibetan opera—recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage—and gained insights into ethnic interactions, exchanges and integration at Tashilhunpo Monastery.

The event featured numerous highlights. On October 18, international travel agents attended the “Winter Tour in Xizang Launching Ceremony” and the “International Travel Agent Business Conference”. The event showcased diverse cultural tourism offerings, including regional products from the seven prefectures and cities of Xizang, specialized winter tourism packages, and niche cultural experiences. Interactive sessions offered participants the chance to engage with Xizang’s intangible cultural heritage, showing them the unique charm of this region. The event also promoted meaningful exchanges between international and local travel agents, culminating in the signing of cultural tourism cooperation and exchange agreements, injecting new vitality and momentum into the international expansion of Xizang’s tourism sector.
