Church Leaders Can Now Get Training To Help Those Coming Home From Jail

by Binary News NetworkOctober 12, 2021

Union City, GA, 12 Oct 2021, ZEXPRWIRE, When JoAnn returned home after being incarcerated 1,032 days in prison, she had a support system waiting for her to help her pick up the pieces of her life and start over. For many coming home, that is not the case. Many of them feel like there is no one there to help them pick up the pieces to their lives and start over. They are all alone in a world that is probably different from the one they knew before they were locked up. They are forced to learn a new way of living by themselves. That’s why The Station of Hope program is so important and why churches should get involved. Prior to their release from prison, incarcerated individuals know that this place is a “safe-haven” where Returning Citizens are welcomed, and this church/and or organization is committed to assisting them to make a smooth transition back with their families, churches and communities. That being said, not all churches are equipped to support this population of individuals, some of whom are members of their congregations. That is why JoAnn, and her team are launching the Station of Hope Certification program.

The Station of Hope Certification program is a 4-hour workshop that will provide churches and organizations with the resources, structure and necessary tools that they will need to help men and women who are re-entering our communities get a fresh start. JoAnn who is a member of First Corinth Missionary Baptist Church has been doing this work for over 20 years. She knows the challenges that returning men and women coming home to no support system will face, but she also understands that churches can’t help these individuals if they are ill-equipped to do so.

The Station of Hope Certification program is open for enrollment for churches/and or organizations to learn to help this population of individuals create a better life for themselves, their families and become community partners when they return home.
If you are a church/and or an organization and you want to become a Certified Station of Hope Partner you can enroll by going to www.FamilyUnificationNetwork.org The class starts October 19, 2021. Deadline for enrollment is October 15, 2021
